BMW to invest $A382m in UK mini factories

German luxury car maker BMW is to invest a furthermore STG250 million in its three Mini factories in Britain.

THE funds will be invested in manufacturing operations by the end of 2015 at BMW's plant in Oxford, steel body pressings operation at Swindon and engine plant at Hams Hall nearly Birmingham.

Monday's news comes on top of an announcement a year ago of STG500 million investment and means additional job security for the 5500 UK Mini workers, BMW said.
