Taiwan Dollar Strengthens as Exporters Buy Before Greek Vote

Taiwan's dollar advanced amidspeculation exporters are repatriating income earlier thisweekend's Greek elections, which may lead to a breakup of theeuro. Government bonds declined.

The yield on the 1.25 percent notes due March 2022 rose to1.193 percent from 1.186 percent yesterday, according to GretaiSecurities Market.

The overnight interbank lending rate was little changed at0.51 percent, according to a weighted average compiled by theTaiwan Interbank Money Center.
